Open The Book

What is Open The Book?

Children love stories – especially Bible stories when they’re interactive, engaging and fun!

Open the Book is a Bible Society initiative that began in 1999, and since then thousands of school children have discovered Bible stories, during assembly and collective worship. It’s a three-year rolling programme of themed and dramatised storytelling for primary schools. Teams of volunteers throughout the country use drama, mime, props, costume – and even the children and staff themselves – to present the Bible stories in lively and informative ways.

St Peter & St Paul's is part of this initiative, working in the lower schools in Flitwick with teams of church members as the storytellers.

If you are interested in learning more, and perhaps becoming involved – either as a storyteller, or behind the scenes with props and costumes – please contact Sophie    pioneer@flitwickchurch.org
